The fashion world suffered a terrible lost today. Alexander McQueen, known for his dramatic and fanciful collections, was found dead today at his London home. I heard the news just minutes ago from my friend Tricia. This tragic news immediately took a huge impact on me and I cannot describe how sad and shocked I am.
McQueen's mother passed away on February 2nd. It had been tough for him ever since his mom's passing. Four days later on his twitter, he posted that "sunday evening been a f*****g awful week but my friends have been great but now i have to some how pull myself together and finish with the HELLS ANGLES & PROLIFIC DEAMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". There's speculation that McQueen had committed suicide.
McQueen was scheduled to show his Women's Fall/Winter 2010/11 collection today, however, the event has now been canceled.
RIP Alexander McQueen, we will miss you!

I Killed My Mother- J’ai Tue Ma Mere
Today I fell in love with a new film- I Killed My Mother (J’ai Tue Ma Mere). This movie is written and directed by the young and talented Xavier Dolan, who is also the main character of the movie. I am not going to get into details about the movie, but pretty much it's about a teenager's love-hate relationship with his mother, his sexuality, coming-of-age, and self-discoveries.
I found that the movie was very well shot and written. It tells a story in a very honest way, and relevant to what many teenagers go through or went through. To certain extent, I can relate to many of the struggles that Hubert experienced.
So go see this movie, I highly recommend it!

New!! Wrap Jacket
This is the newest piece that I have created. Pretty much it's the vest/wrap but with sleeves. I actually designed a very similar piece two years ago for myself with a zipper closure. A lot of people loved the style and asked me to make it for the store that I worked at but I never got around to do it. Then a customer saw the vest/wrap on Etsy and asked me to make a jacket version for her. And here's the new and cleaned up version.

Beach House- Teen Dream
Check out Beach House if you haven't! Their new album, Teen Dream, is already in stores and I have been listening to it every day! It is such a beautiful, and lovely arranged album that brightens your day immediately. Favorite songs from the album are Zebra, Norway, Used To Be, and Take Care, but honestly every single song on the album is wonderful. I already bought my tickets to their show, so should you!

Men Fall 2010 - Paris Fashion Week Highlights
I finally got a chance to review all of the collections from Paris Fashion Week and there are several collections that I absolutely love.
Kris Van Assche
Dior Homme
Dries Van Noten
Lanvin
AHHH!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The over-sized knitwear pieces are amazing!Kris Van Assche
Junya Watanabe
I am so inspired to create a shrunken blazer for myself. Loving the cropped pants also.Hermes
Effortless, understated, chic, oh so French.
Dior Homme
Dark and mysterious.
I was really disappointed with the Rick Owens collection. I have always appreciated his avant garde aesthetic but I find that the new collection was just a bit too much for me. The proportions for most of the garments were visually unpleasant, and the models wearing the halter tops were awkward. Although the man's collection was a let down, I am still looking forward to the woman's collection.
